Beyblade is a modern-day spinning top (toy) sold by Takara Tomy (formerly Takara) since July 1999. The original "Bakuten Shoot Beyblade" became a massive hit among elementary school students nationwide from 2001 to 2002. The second generation, "Metal Fight Beyblade," was launched in 2008, and the third generation, "Beyblade Burst," was launched in 2015.
