This marks my third time seeing them live, following performances at the Budokan in 1997 and the Tokyo International Forum in 2014, making it an 11-year gap. Their performance hasn't faded at all; in fact, its perfection has only increased, and there were plenty of elements to entertain the audience. Their mature and outstanding chorus work had a pleasant lack of strain, and there were scenes where they played guitars and basses themselves, layering sounds onto the band's performance. Their song covers ranged from oldies to hard rock and even recent hit songs, making it impossible to take your eyes off such a diverse performance. On top of all that, they sprinkled in numerous famous songs that represent their era-defining career, so there's no way anyone in the venue tonight wouldn't have their heart captured. During "I'll Make Love To You" before the encore, they, as is customary, threw single roses into the audience. Their touring partner, SWV, also delivered a supreme sound, and we left the venue with the roses we were lucky enough to get and a great sense of satisfaction.
