Dixon, whose real name is Steffen Berkhahn, is a DJ and the head of INNERVISIONS, a Berlin-based label that has transformed the house music scene in recent years with its unique conceptual sound and artwork. He began his career as a house DJ in Berlin in the early 90s. From the mid-90s, he was a resident DJ at weekly parties held at Berlin's most important clubs such as EWERK and TRESOR, and decided to hold his own parties to seek further evolution. In 1996, he hosted "AUDIO VIDEO DISCO" with Mitja Prinz at the WMF club, which became Germany's most influential house music party. In 1998, he teamed up with the Jazzanova crew to release his first remix work from Sonar Kollektiv. It was Propulsion (Dixon's AVDC Mix) released under the name Extended Spirit, a side project of Jazzanova. Since then, he has remixed artists such as Femi Kuti, At Jazz, Jazzanova, Brooks, I-Cube, Kemetic Just, Beanfield, Clara Hill, Fauna Flash, and Meitz. He has also produced George Levin's "When I'm With You" and "(I Got) Somebody New," which have become house classics and have been praised by Louie Vega and Timmy Regisford. In 2002, he started a production project called "Wahoo" in collaboration with George Levin. Their first single, "Make Em Shake It," was a huge hit from 2004 to 2005, and was heavily played by Francois K and others. In recent years, he has steadily built his career as a DJ through his productions, remixes, and the release of mix CDs such as "Off Limits," "Body Language Vol. 4," "Temporary Secretary," "Five Years of Innervisions," and "Live at Robert Johnson," and his deep dance music is now extremely popular all over the world. DJ Dixon, one of Germany's proudest house music DJs, is making a long-awaited return to Japan.
