エレファントカシマシ
Elekashi (Elephant Kashimashi) is a band that originally had a large number of songs in their setlists, but 28 songs is still a lot for this era. However, last year's Budokan performance also had 28 songs, so you could say it's business as usual. I'm not entirely sure because I haven't checked properly, but it seems like they played 28 songs and didn't include songs from six albums. Considering that, I thought they could have done 35 songs for the 35th-anniversary live. That way, they could have covered songs from all their albums and made it a true anniversary live. I believe Motoharu Sano also performed 35 songs over 3 hours and 45 minutes for his 35th-anniversary live. They selected some rare songs, but I didn't really feel a sense of specialness. Couldn't the management have shown some consideration by putting up a huge sign like "Elephant Kashimashi 35th LIVE" at the entrance to get people excited from the moment they walk in? Inside, there was one small monitor on each side and one huge monitor at the back of the stage. The side monitors were used to show the performance, but the center monitor was only used for two songs before the encore, which felt like a waste. Compared to Saitama Super Arena, Yoyogi National Gymnasium, and Yokohama Arena, the seats on the side stands at Ariake are quite difficult to see from, so I wish they had used the center monitor more. Also, it's not Miyaji's solo live, so I wish they had shown the band members' and support musicians' performances as well. Also, the buzzing noise between songs (especially in the first half) was very distracting. I could hear it when the sound got quieter at the end of the songs, which means the noise was probably there even while they were singing. Those are the negative points; otherwise, it was good. Miyaji's vocal power didn't drop until the end, and there were more MC segments than usual for an Elekashi live. For some reason, I think I'll still go to Miyaji's solo performances in the future, but I think today might be my last Elekashi live. If it were a normal live, I'd give it 4 stars, but considering it's a special anniversary, I'd give it 3.
