桃井はるこ
Haruko Momoi (桃井 はるこ, born December 14, 1977) is a Japanese female singer-songwriter, lyricist, composer, voice actress, and radio personality. She is from Tokyo and belongs to Light Gauge. Her blood type is O. She graduated from Tokyo Metropolitan Yoyogi High School and dropped out of the Department of Public Relations and Media Studies in the Faculty of Literature at Tokai University. She openly professes her deep affection for Akihabara, and having proactively engaged in activities there early on, she is known by the moniker "Original Akiba-kei Queen." Her nicknames include "Momoi." She also uses the aliases "Haruko Moai," "momo-i," "桃井はる子," and "O.T.Queen." Biography: During her student days, she attended academically-focused junior high and high schools, but she couldn't adjust to the study-oriented atmosphere. She intentionally chose a more free-spirited part-time high school. In 1994, her first visit to an Aoi Mizuno event led her to actively participate in live idol activities, and she became acquainted with other idol enthusiasts. On the recommendation of friends she met at late-night radio events she had been submitting to since junior high, she started using personal computers while in high school. By the time the internet began to spread, she already had her own website, where she published "Haruko Momoi's Secret Diary" and other content, which caught the eye of an editor. This led to writing activities, including a serialization in the magazine "GREAT SATURN Z." In 1996, she worked as a substitute one-day manager at Shinjuku Loft Plus One, which turned into a talk live event called "Haruko Momoi's Secret" where she talked about idols, continuing for more than thirteen times. Idol Activities Started: She began activities as a pre-idol in 1996. The following year, in 1997, as "Moai Haruko," a virtual idol produced by Haruko Momoi, she was among the first to start street live activities in Harajuku and Akihabara in a Fujisaki Shiori cosplay and a Power Glove, drawing attention. After being seen at a talk live at Loft Plus One, she was approached by people involved with the Bunka Broadcasting late-night radio program "Onosaka & Momoi's Bar Radio: Electronic Warfare Squadron Momonger" in 1998. Since then, she has been involved in many programs as a radio personality. In 1999, she became a regular on "D's Garage 21" (TV Asahi network/Wednesdays at 25:00). Music Activities Started: After dropping out of university, she released her major debut single "Mail Me" in May 2000, starting her full-fledged music career. Continued on Wikipedia.
