Launched in Fukuoka in 2011 as the fourth AKB48 group. Since their debut single "Suki! Suki! Skip!", they set a new record for consecutive number one hits, a new record for a Japanese female artist. In 2020, they opened the Nishi-Nippon City Bank HKT48 Theater in BOSS E・ZO FUKUOKA. On May 12, 2021, they will release their new single "Kimi to Dokoka he Ikitai (I want to go somewhere with you)," marking their first attempt at having two senbatsu (selected-member) groups.
