Megumi Kabashima Birthday Concert 2025: Voice Smiling ~To a New Future~. The concert was fulfilling in every way, featuring her singing with a handheld microphone accompanied by Mr. Olu's piano, her usual piano-accompanied singing, and the Voice Smiling! recording. Yokohama mint hall is a hall with clear sound definition, and her voice, released from the handheld microphone, resonated directly. Her voice, singing while occasionally taking steps, had more breadth and depth than usual, and penetrated deep into the heart. Yet, her unpretentious and unchanging demeanor was very encouraging, and I felt her strong dedication to this concert and the carefully crafted artistry. Also, the miracle of the same artists gathering again after four years, and the significance of having all of them together, goes without saying. The recording of Voice Smiling!, with the audience participating in Call & Response, surely became a song that captured the image of "this very moment" with her feelings. I am already looking forward to the day it takes shape as a CD.
