細坪基佳
A regular live performance by Motoyoshi Hosotsubo at Shinsaibashi Theater. As in previous years, his high-tone, beautiful voice resonated in the calm and chic hall, accompanied by delicate acoustic guitar and piano, allowing the audience to fully enjoy high-quality adult pop music. This year, he performed five new songs from his original album "Old time is Good time," which was released on June 6th, his first in nine years since "Omoide wa Kaze no Naka ni" in 2009. At the venerable age of 65, he is still a singer-songwriter who continues to convey his thoughts, and his relentless pursuit of creation and expression was overflowing, making him a reliable figure for long-time fans. During his era with FUKUTOTU, I thought his live singing was even better than his recordings, but I felt again that the "live sound" of his clear voice, which directly conveys the real emotions of this very moment, was comfortable. Unlike the band arrangement during recording, even with only two simple guitars, it is precisely because of this arrangement that we can witness his exceptional talent as a vocalist, be overwhelmed, and be moved. On this day, at the beginning, he sincerely stated, "Due to the impact of the Osaka earthquake a few days before the event, I hesitated until deciding to hold it, but I have been conveying my thoughts by singing for 45 years, so I want to sing earnestly today," showing consideration for the affected areas. Also, the talk on this day didn't make you feel the distance between the audience and the stage in the normally elegant hall. His skill in drawing out the audience's reactions and transforming the atmosphere into a homely one was a heartwarming and enjoyable content, which is characteristic of Hosotsubo's attentiveness.
