This concert, marking their 25th anniversary, was packed with excitement. The two hours flew by, featuring songs mainly from their new album released this year, as well as some nostalgic tunes. With the addition of Masaaki Tamaki on percussion this time, the rhythm section became thicker, and Tamaki-san's smug face during the fill-ins in the latter half of 'Stars' was excellent. The horn section, which Yosuke Sugiyama-san had questioned whether it could be reproduced live during the recording of the new album, was also sharp and powerful, led by Hajime Yamamoto-san. During the piano version of 'Dust in Paris', I couldn't help but shed tears during the chorus and soprano saxophone solo. They are a super-veteran group: the 'Kangeki (60th birthday) Trio' from last year, Higuchi-san who turned 60 this year, Hamada-san who will be 70 next year, and another member (perhaps their dedicated photographer?). I hope they continue to be active for many years to come.
