RYO TSUTSUI

Based in Japan, artist Ryo Tsutsui has an intricate musical history that has led him to become a well-known club owner and DJ in Tokyo. At the early age of 15, he began playing drums and experienced many live acts, mainly in Tokyo and London. In 2000, he was heavily influenced by the global movement of dance music and turned DJ with inspiration from the music scene around the world. Soon after, he was named a resident DJ at the infamous party EDEN @ Club AIR in Shibuya. He has successfully collaborated with international parties such as Global Underground and Serious, and in 2004 he made his first overseas appearance in Australia. From the beginning, Ryo has set his sights on crossovers with street culture such as fixie bikes, and has emerged as a brand that cannot be ignored with its highly acclaimed sound. He has been actively expanding into Cities such as Ibiza, Berlin, NY, Hong Kong, Bali, Bangkok, Macau and Seoul. In Bangkok, he started his own program "Tokyo Sessions" on UB Radio, a dance-based internet radio based in Bangkok. Inspired to begin producing music, he released his first original track in 2006 entitled, "smashing pumpkin", on the compilation CD of "EDEN". Together with some of the most talented DJs in the Tokyo scene, he then launched a new party called WEEKEND WARRIORZ in 2008. In 2009 he won the club party competition "RED BULL NIGHT MASTER" as EDEN. Subsequently, in November of the same year, he also participated in the DJ Contest organized by Parties4Peace called "PATAGONICA" as an individual, winning the championship and a trip to play music in Patagonia, Chile. This led him to experience a two-week South American tour in Chile tour February to March 2010. Since then, he continues to collaborate with Parties4Peace between Tokyo and NY. As an artist, RYO TSUTSUI dislikes categorizing sounds as a DJ, and continues to maintain the attitude of playing the sounds necessary to express his sense of feeling, and his delicate sensations are overflowing with rich charm that moves your soul. Since his second production in 2012, he has continued to release music, including an EP in collaboration with Koutarou.A from EON5/New York, and has also released tracks on labels like Audiometric Records/Croatia, Aenaria Tribal/Holland, Totem Trax/Japan, Bass Works Recordings/Japan. For the next stage of Ryo's music career, he was determined to provide a space for upcoming artists to play their music and decided to open his own club called “ORIZURU” in Tokyo. Since 2019, Orizuru club has hosted various events to highlight the international and local music scene in Japan.
