■ SMiLE.dk BIOGRAPHY SMILE TO THE WORLD AND THE WORLD WILL SMILE WITH YOU! SMiLE.dk is a Swedish pop duo consisting of singers Veronica and Malin. The two met at music school in 1994 and have been close friends ever since. They have achieved their greatest success in Asia, selling numerous records and establishing themselves as superstars. Their mission is to deliver fun and happiness to people through catchy lyrics, upbeat sounds, and delicate, emotional ballads. All of their songs are united by their beautiful vocals. SMiLE.dk sold over 500,000 copies of their debut album, Smile, which was released in Asia and Scandinavia in 1998. The album achieved gold disc status in Japan and won the "Best International Girl Group" award in Hong Kong in 1999. Several tracks from this album were included in the EMI Dancemania compilation, and one of them, "Butterfly," was licensed by Konami for the first version of Dance Dance Revolution. Since then, "Butterfly" has become one of the most popular songs in Dance Dance Revolution history, with over 100 million views on YouTube. Currently, SMiLE.dk has over 10 songs included in DDR, and their music is known all over the world. They also have a high affinity with anime culture. In 2008, they performed at San Japan in San Antonio, Texas, USA, which was their first North American performance. They then performed at Sakura Con (Seattle) in 2009 and Otafest (Calgary, Canada) in 2016.
