大貫妙子
This was her first participation since Peter and His Companions. As it was her 50th anniversary, I headed to the venue expecting her to play some SUGAR BABE songs. The stage was as usual, with a curtain depicting the logo of this concert. The venue was even recording with cameras! It will be broadcast on WOWOW in January next year, apparently. It might take a little longer for it to be released as a package. The opening was delayed by about 10 minutes. It started with "Yokogao," as expected, and the second song was surprisingly "Shinkiro no Machi." It was also played at Mr. Otaki's tribute live, so I was happy to hear it live for the first time. But... to be honest, I wanted to hear the original version. This time it was also the version recorded in ROMANTIQUE. During the MC after this, she said that she didn't really feel like it was her 50th anniversary. Next, she performed "Natsu ni Koisuru Onnatachi," which was the theme song of a drama from the bubble era. The last time she performed it with a band was probably 7 years ago. Furthermore, this time it was with a sequencer, so the arrangement was closer to the original. It was one of the songs I wanted to hear with a band, so I hope she'll do it again at Peter and His Companions... After that, surprisingly, "Metropolitan Museum"! This is also rare with a band! I was so happy! Here, guest Ichiko Aoba appeared and performed "Sanbiki no Kuma" with just a guitar, and then "Peter Rabbit to Watashi" together, after a request to play a cheerful song. I didn't know much about Aoba-san, but she's active overseas, isn't she? Ohnuki-san said that she has a unique atmosphere. The next guest was Hanaregumi. They performed "Happy-Go-Lucky," which they also duetted at the 40th anniversary concert, and then Mr. Sahashi, the guest, appeared and performed "Suteki na Melody"! I was a little excited because Hanaregumi was coming, but they did it after all! I'm happy! But I was a little lonely. Tatsuro-san also played it on his tour this year, and said that it would be better to sing it with Ohnuki-san, but after listening to this performance, I thought that the vocals wouldn't match. The volume is too different, so it would probably get lost in the performance, and the key was also lowered, so a co-performance with Tatsuro-san might be a pipe dream. After Hanaregumi left, she touched on "Beautiful Songs" from 25 years ago, and performed "Funade," which was produced for that project. It was the first time in a while since the year-end concert two years ago. Here, the last guest, Chris Parker, appeared and performed "OUT OF AFRICA," probably for the first time. It's a shame that I only vaguely remember it. I should have studied the songs from this period more... During the MC, she talked about Chris, and said that she went to a Japan tour of the band "Staff," of which Chris is a member, and after listening to their performance, she wanted him to participate in the drums for "SUNSHOWER." And they performed "Summer Connection" for the first time in 48 years. At that time, she asked the audience, "Do you know the title?" I thought, "Of course, even if you're suddenly told..." Besides, the tempo is so fast. Was this correct? And then, "Kusuri wo Takusan"! It was a song that a foreign fan said they loved on a certain TV program. I just hope he was participating... I want her to perform it in LA. During the MC, she introduced this song and said that it's popular overseas, but the lyrics are radical. And then, the flow of "SUNSHOWER" continued, and she performed "Tokai," the most popular song on this album. During the interlude, there was a keyboard performance by Mr. Amimori, and it was exactly like the original! To be able to hear this while I'm alive... Next year's Peter, why not change the setlist drastically? If she can reproduce this much, I want her to do various things. Next was "Iidasenakute"... but perhaps Ohnuki-san made a mistake at the beginning of the song, or made a mistake with the lyrics, so they stopped once. They restarted and played it from the beginning. It's already a tradition. She made a mistake at the end of last year too. After an MC, they performed "Umi to Shonen," which was the last co-performance with Mr. Sahashi and Chris-san. I was happy that the keyboard of the performance was reproduced! But I felt like something was missing because there was no chorus... Please add a chorus to the band members. I don't think there are that few scenes where they can be active. After introducing the members, the last song of the main part was "Shikisai Toshi." It's a standard song, but it's still indispensable for concerts. I want her to keep singing it forever. For the encore, they first performed "Itsumo Doori." After that, all the guests appeared and performed "Wonderland." There aren't many opportunities to hear it at one-man lives, so I finally got to hear it. Ohnuki-san's voice was a little hard to hear, and there was some feedback at the end, so I'm worried about whether it will remain in the video... After the performance, it ended completely. After the end, the original song of "Wonderland" was playing. Overall, it was a satisfying concert. I was happy to hear SUGAR BABE and hear various songs with arrangements close to the originals. There weren't any recent songs, but I think she covered almost all of the songs from the period when she was actively producing music. I think it was a setlist befitting her 50th anniversary. I want to participate in the concert again! Next time, I have to study the 80's songs a little more...
