周雲蓬
Born in Shenyang, Liaoning Province in 1970, Zhou Yunpeng lost his sight at the age of 9. In 1980, he entered the Shenyang School for the Blind. In 1991, he enrolled in the Special Education College of Changchun University, majoring in Chinese language. After graduating in 1994, he took up a guitar and traveled to Beijing to begin singing. Since then, he has continued to perform actively and has become one of the representative artists of Chinese folk music. In 2011, he won the People's Literature Poetry Award for "Love of Silence". In 2017, he appeared as an actor in director Li Ruijun's "Walking Past the Future," which was nominated for the Un Certain Regard section at the 70th Cannes Film Festival. He is also actively involved in volunteer work, donating a portion of his album revenue to support visually impaired children suffering from poverty.
