Knuckles the Echidna is a fictional character appearing in Sega's video game series, Sonic the Hedgehog. He first appeared in Sonic the Hedgehog 3, the fourth installment in the Sonic series released on May 27, 1994, and has also appeared in spin-off works such as comics and animations. He is an anthropomorphic echidna.
