Dr. Nishimura

The owner of online record shop Sunline Records. He is a DJ and record buyer who has performed at numerous prestigious clubs and festivals both domestically and internationally. Having worked as a buyer for leading record shops such as Barong, Cisco House Shop, and Jet Set, his wealth of musical knowledge, cultivated over his 20+ year career, is what earns him the title "Dr." As DISCOSSESSION, a unit formed with Chee Shimizu, Jonny Nash, Zecky, and others, they were among the first in Japan to redefine obscure European disco styles such as Italo and Cosmic, pioneering the re-evaluation of Balearic music and gaining worldwide attention. His experienced and knowledgeable sets have been praised by fellow artists such as Kenji Takimi, Daniel Wang, DJ Cosmo, Lovefingers, Todd Terje, and Beppe Loda. Currently, he is developing "Akuma no Numa" (Devil's Swamp) with COMPUMA and AWANO, who are also active under their own solo names, creating dense, high-intensity grooves on the dance floor, starting from somewhat slower BPMs. Since July 2018, he has been affiliated with the renowned Shibuya record shop Lighthouse Records, introducing the world's most captivating new releases.
