Rickey Calloway, the "King of Funk" born in Florida. In 1970, at the age of 19, Rickey released the single "Tell Me" from Miami's independent label Jay-Vee Records. After more than 30 years, this single was "discovered" by funk collectors around the world. Since 2010, with his charming personality beloved by all, he has been actively performing live mainly in Europe, especially in the UK. From Funk Night Records, he has released a series of collaboration singles with Detroit's Will Sessions and NY's Dap-Kings. One of his signature songs, "Stay In The Groove," has also been released from Kay-Dee Records. Also, through his friendship with Miami heavyweight Henry Stone, he released the album "King of Funk" from the HSM label. In addition to funk, Rickey Calloway's charm as a unique Southern soul performer with a working-class perspective is present.
